A Day of Working Remotely (+ Win a Month-long Workation in Mexico)

Working remotely has been an incredible experience so far. Right now, I am writing from Megalo Pefko, a beach-front town near Athens. It is one of my favorite places to work from, as it is calm, near the sea, and the vibes are lovely. I have actually managed to build a daily routine, as well!

In this post, I will unveil my remote work routine. Read until the end because I will tell you how you can win a Month-long stay at a remote work paradise in Mexico with all expenses paid!

I like to wake up early—not too early, but early enough to feel productive. Then, I prepare my Breakfast. I love Greek fruits. For the past few months, my breakfast has consisted of a bowl of Greek yogurt, oats, fresh strawberries, and honey. I feel I’ve found my combination. Everything works amazingly together, and it helps me be energized until lunch.

Then, I usually proceed with some brainstorming and keyword research. Getting well-prepared before writing an article is crucial if you want your articles to rank well on Google. I use LowFruits, an amazing and budget-friendly tool that does all the hard work for me. It tells me which keywords my blog would most probably rank for and how many words my competition’s articles use.

Then, it’s time to start writing. I usually aim for my travel guides to be around 3,000- 4,000 words long. This is the perfect length to ensure that I have provided as much detail as possible, and my travel guides offer more than just plain, well-known information that can be found anywhere else online.

Once I finish writing a certain segment, I start preparing lunch. I love Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine, so my meals mainly revolve around that. I take my time to eat, and then I take a small power nap. It’s usually around 30 minutes (sometimes I cannot control myself, and it’s much more than that), and I have a cup of hot coffee.

You cannot imagine how amazing it is to enjoy a coffee while watching the sea from the balcony. This view is very inspiring and one of the things that keeps me motivated. Having a travel blog is no easy task. It requires many hours of continuing work on several different platforms, so there are times when exhaustion appears. Taking some time for myself has been the key to helping me continue.

I usually take an hour to go for a walk at the beach. Golden hour here is incredible, and taking a leisurely stroll at this time of the day is wonderful. Then, I get back home and do some social media work. I dedicate my time to one platform per week. One week for Instagram, one for TikTok, one for Facebook etc. This way, I can schedule my uploads for the coming weeks without getting lost between platforms or burnt out by the amount of work that needs to be done.

Finally, I close everything and prepare to go out for Dinner. There are plenty of great places nearby where you can find everything, from seafood to burgers and crepes. We’ll usually end up at a local pub for a beer and then back home to rest.

Now, without further ado, let’s get to the competition part!

The Nomad Workation Competition

You can now work remotely while exploring a completely new place, all expenses paid and organized by SafetyWing. Whether you’re just starting out or have already embraced digital nomadism, this is your chance to win a month-long work assignment in Mexico City, Mexico.

Now it’s time to get to the interesting part: What’s included for the winner of the Nomad Workation contest?

First things first (and one of the best parts, in my opinion), your Round-trip flights to Mexico City (up to USD $2000) are included!

Once you reach your destination, you will enjoy a month-long stay at Selina CoLive. Selina is famous for building one of the largest hospitality brands in the world, with one of the fastest conversion models globally. They have managed to blend beautifully designed accommodation with coworking, recreation, wellness, and local experiences.

This location features high-speed wifi, wellness classes, and a rooftop with regular events. It is perfectly suited for your relaxation and productivity needs. During your off hours, you can explore the city’s rich culture with nearby food tours, urban green spaces, cultural landmarks, and lively nightlife. One thing is for sure: it is ideal for both digital Nomads and regular travelers!

Remember, you will also get Nomad Insurance coverage for the duration of your trip. One of the first things that comes to your mind when planning a trip (especially for long-term ones) is insurance.

Safetywing Button

Safetywing’s Nomad Insurance is one of the best options available. With a maximum coverage of 365 days, it is a great option whether you are a Nomad or not! It offers very low rates but excellent coverage and immediate support (in a few minutes!). The best part? Nomad Insurance can be purchased even if you have already left your home country.

Lastly, they also cover extreme sports, something that can come in very handy if you are an adventurous soul.

How to Enter

Entering the Nomad Workation competition is extremely easy. You only have to visit the competition’s website through this link and then create your own SafetyWing account. This step is crucial! If you already have an account, you only have to log in and nothing else.

Once you enter the competition, you will get an e-mail confirmation of your entry. Then, you can take your time to learn more about Nomad Insurance and what they can offer to make your travels and work easier and safer!

A winner will be randomly drawn once the competition ends on May 16th, 2024. However, if you don’t win this month, there is no need to worry—this competition will continue to run every month until the end of the year!

When the first winner is announced, the next destination will be confirmed, and you will be eligible to enter again!

Final Thoughts

I believe that building those little day-to-day routines is essential to keep someone motivated. I love working remotely, and it is mainly because of that. I can respect my boundaries and not get constantly confined between four walls.

If you are a digital nomad or just someone willing to try something new, I highly recommend joining the nomad workation competition. It is a chance to create amazing work, meet new people, and create new memories!
