The Best Place I’ve Worked from (+ Win 1 Month Workation in Mexico)

I would be lying if I said that I have been living a blogger’s dream life. Life’s Small, World’s Big is slowly entering its second year and the journey has been full of ups and downs. There have been many moments of despair when I felt like my work wasn’t good enough, and I have considered quitting many times.

However, there have been a lot of beautiful moments as well. In the past month, this website has seen by far its best performance, and the statistics are getting better and better. I’ve found that resting and not getting burnt out trying to deliver as much content as possible is very beneficial. Our mental health is much more important than we sometimes think. And, of course, nothing would be possible without you, my readers.

To commemorate the first full year of blogging, I decided to put up this piece where I will be revealing to you the best place I’ve worked from during this journey.

Also, read until the end because I will be telling you how you can win a one-month workation at a majestic co-working hotel in Mexico.

The Best Place I have ever worked from

The view from Kazbegi

First, let’s talk about working away from home. While I’ve had the chance to work in many different places and environments, my favorite one is, by far, Kazbegi. Kazbegi is a small but lovely town in the northern part of Georgia. It is home to some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen, and the adventure opportunities are countless.

If you want to learn more about this beautiful region in the Caucasus, my complete guide is available here.

So, imagine this. Starting to slowly and steadily make progress on achieving your dream of becoming a professional travel blogger and writing your next piece while enjoying a hot cup of tea. Not only that, but you are working from a hotel balcony, admiring the wilderness of the Georgian mountains.

I would generally consider myself an anxious person. I’ve struggled a lot with anxiety in my life, and I am slowly taking steps to overcome that. However, the serenity of the atmosphere and the vibes created a magical aura. I felt so calm and creative. In fact, some of my best-ranking articles on Google (and reader favorites) were written in Kazbegi.

This experience taught me that working away from home isn’t the distracting and unproductive thing that I once thought. Instead, it’s an opportunity to create better content while also experiencing new things and caring for my mental health. Since then, I decided to search more actively for opportunities to work remotely.

Today, I am very happy to announce that I’ve found an opportunity for you, too! What if you could start your journey as a remote worker from an exotic destination completely free?

The Nomad Workation Competition

You can now work remotely while exploring a completely new place, all expenses paid and organized by SafetyWing. Whether you’re just starting out or have already embraced digital nomadism, this is your chance to win a month-long work assignment in Mexico City, Mexico.

Now it’s time to get to the interesting part: What’s included for the winner of the Nomad Workation contest?

First things first (and one of the best parts, in my opinion), your Round-trip flights to Mexico City (up to USD $2000) are included!

Once you reach your destination, you will enjoy a month-long stay at Selina CoLive. Selina is famous for building one of the largest hospitality brands in the world, with one of the fastest conversion models globally. They have managed to blend beautifully designed accommodation with coworking, recreation, wellness, and local experiences.

This location features high-speed wifi, wellness classes, and a rooftop with regular events. It is perfectly suited for your relaxation and productivity needs. During your off hours, you can explore the city’s rich culture with nearby food tours, urban green spaces, cultural landmarks, and lively nightlife. One thing is for sure: it is ideal for both digital Nomads and regular travelers!

Remember, you will also get Nomad Insurance coverage for the duration of your trip. One of the first things that comes to your mind when planning a trip (especially for long-term ones) is insurance.

Safetywing Button

Safetywing’s Nomad Insurance is one of the best options available. With a maximum coverage of 365 days, it is a great option whether you are a Nomad or not! It offers very low rates but excellent coverage and immediate support (in a few minutes!). The best part? Nomad Insurance can be purchased even if you have already left your home country.

Lastly, they also cover extreme sports, something that can come in very handy if you are an adventurous soul.

How to Enter

Entering the Nomad Workation competition is extremely easy. You only have to visit the competition’s website through this link and then create your own SafetyWing account. This step is crucial! If you already have an account, you only have to log in and nothing else.

Once you enter the competition, you will get an e-mail confirmation of your entry. Then, you can take your time to learn more about Nomad Insurance and what they can offer to make your travels and work easier and safer!

A winner will be randomly drawn once the competition ends on May 16th, 2024. However, if you don’t win this month, there is no need to worry—this competition will continue to run every month until the end of the year!

When the first winner is announced, the next destination will be confirmed, and you will be eligible to enter again!

Final Thoughts

Working remotely has been a life-changing experience. I’ve had the chance to explore new places, meet amazing people, and try delicious food without compromising the quality of my articles. Being a travel blogger requires traveling a lot, and taking my work with me has been a saver.

If you are a digital nomad, or just someone willing to try something new, I would very much recommend joining the nomad workation competition. I believe that it is a chance to create amazing work and experiences while also respecting your own mental health!
